    Programme Name:Ph.D. Mass Communication
    Introduction:
    PhD in Mass Communication involves 18 credit hours coursework
    followed by comprehensive research to generate body of knowledge
    on the mass communication phenomena. The coursework compri-
    ses International Communication and Globalization, Media Debates,
    Political Communication, Content Analysis Research, and Approach-
    es to Mass Communication Theories and Effects. This programme
    will make students learn the global perspectives of Mass communi-
    cation, and help them explore media-society relationships. Besides,
    the students will be able to debate, and independently investigate
    the issues relating to political and sociological perspectives of Mass
    Media and communication at national and international levels.
    OBJECTIVES The PhD Mass Communication programme has been
    designed to advance higher studies and research in Mass
    Communication enabling students to critically analyze the
    relationships between media and society.
    Admission Requirement:
    M.Phil Degree in Mass Communication from a recognized university
    in first division or CGPA (3.0).
    Selection Process:
    Selection of the candidates will be made strictly on the basis of
    merit/criteria laid down by the Department/ University.
    Duration:Maximum 5 Years
    Medium of Instruction:English
    Teaching Methodology:
    The University allots Study Centre and Tutors for the Students to
    get guideline accordingly. A student has to secure passing marks
    in Assignments as well as in final exams to successfully complete
    concerned Educational Programme.
