    Programme Name:Ph.D. Special Education (M.Phil based)
    Introduction:
    The Department was established in 1985. The department
    imparts education and training to teachers for the special
    children in four specialization namely visual impairment,
    hearing impairment, physical disabilities and mental retar-
    dation with particular emphasis to facilitate mainstreaming
    of special children. Parents of the special children are also
    admitted to these programmes.
    Present programmes/courses of this department comprised
    of Postgraduate Diploma, MEd, MA, MPhil and PhD (MS/MPhil
    Based) in Special Education
    Admission Requirement:
    Graduate holding MS/MPhil in the relevant area or equivalent
    with GPA 3.00/Ist Division will be eligible for admission in
    PhD Programme. Test and Interview will be conducted by the
    department concerned. Candidate will apply for admission on
    prescribed form to the concerned chairman of the department.
    If the candidate wishes to apply in more than one specialization,
    he/she has to apply separately for each specialization. Admi-
    ssion will be strictly on merit and on approved criteria.
    Selection Process:
    Selection of the candidates will be made strictly on the basis
    of merit/criteria laid down by the Department/ University.
    Duration:Maximum 5 Years
    Medium of Instruction:English
    Teaching Methodology:
    The University allots Study Centre and Tutors for the Students
    to get guideline accordingly. A student has to secure passing
    marks in Assignments as well as in final exams to successfully
    complete concerned Educational Programme.
