    Programme Name:Ph.D. Teacher Education
    Introduction:
    The Department of Teacher Education was established in
    1985 and was bifurcated into Secondary and Elementary
    Teacher Education Departments in July 2003. Its progra-
    mmes aim at imparting academic and professional knowl-
    edge and training to in-services and pre service teachers
    and scholars.
    The programmes/courses of this department comprises MA
    and MEd Beside these professional degree programmes,
    the department also offers MPhil and PhD (MS/MPhil Based)
    in Education, which are aimed to prepare highly skilled
    leaderships in the field of education.
    Admission Requirement:
    Graduate holding MS/MPhil in the relevant area or equivalent
    with GPA 3.00/Ist Division will be eligible for admission in
    PhD Programme. Test and Interview will be conducted by the
    department concerned. Candidate will apply for admission on
    prescribed form to the concerned chairman of the department.
    If the candidate wishes to apply in more than one specialization,
    he/she has to apply separately for each specialization.
    Admission will be strictly on merit and on approved criteria.
    Selection Process:
    Selection of the candidates will be made strictly on the basis
    of merit/criteria laid down by the Department/ University.
    Duration:Maximum 5 Years
    Medium of Instruction:English
    Teaching Methodology:
    The University allots Study Centre and Tutors for the Students
    to get guideline accordingly. A student has to secure passing
    marks in Assignments as well as in final exams to successfully
    complete concerned Educational Programme.
